Information we collect and why
When you make an enquiry, we receive your name, email address, message, selected product and any company or telephone details you choose to provide. We use this information to respond, provide technical information or quotations, and manage the resulting business relationship.
Where your enquiry is a step towards a contract with you, we use the information to take those steps. For enquiries made on behalf of a business and general product correspondence, we rely on our legitimate interests in responding to requests and operating our business. You do not need to provide optional company or telephone details. We need a name, email address and message to process the website form.
Form security and website operation
The enquiry form uses a temporary session cookie named kenlock_traffic_contact to protect the form and show a genuine submission confirmation. It is a session cookie, restricted to the contact page, and is not used for advertising.
To limit automated submissions, the application temporarily stores a keyed, hashed identifier derived from the connection's IP address together with attempt times. Entries more than 24 hours old are removed on the next submission. The form application does not store the name, email address or message in its rate-limit records. Our hosting and email services may separately process technical logs, IP addresses, session data and message records to operate and secure their services. We rely on our legitimate interests in protecting the website and handling enquiries for this processing.
Who receives the information
Information is available to the people at Kenlock who need it to handle the enquiry and to the hosting, email and other service providers used to operate these services. The website is hosted using hosting.co.uk. We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to answer the request, manage any resulting business relationship and meet relevant record-keeping or legal requirements. The appropriate period depends on whether an enquiry leads to a quotation, order or ongoing support. You can contact us for information about the records relating to you. Temporary form security records follow the shorter period described above.
Cookies and optional analytics
Optional analytics is disabled in the current website configuration. The contact form uses the session cookie described above; no optional analytics runs unless enabled and accepted. If JavaScript is unavailable, the optional analytics script does not run.
The website and enquiry form work without optional analytics. Google Analytics loads only after you select “Accept analytics”. We rely on your consent for this optional measurement. It records page visits, product interest, datasheet downloads, contact-link clicks and confirmed form submissions. We do not send form names, email addresses, phone numbers or message contents to analytics.
Google Analytics uses cookies named _ga and _ga_… to distinguish visits and sessions, with a configured lifetime of up to six months. Google may process usage data and online identifiers outside the UK. For information about Google's processing and international safeguards, see Google's privacy policy.
Your choice is saved in this browser for up to six months. You can change it using “Cookie settings” in the footer. If you withdraw permission, new analytics events stop and the site's accessible Google Analytics cookies are removed. Clearing browser storage also removes your choice. If your browser blocks preference storage, we may ask again on another page.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct, erase or restrict use of your personal information, and may have a right to data portability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting processing before withdrawal.
